National Geographic Announces Best Wild Animal Photo Winners

I'm still catching up on a few posts from last week while I was away, and thankfully I have great fellow bloggers to keep me informed of what's going on. For example, Rick over at the Best Hike Blog, linked to this story over at NationalGeographic.com that announced the winners of a photo contest for the Best Wild Animal photos of 2009.

The contest was sponsored by the Natural History Museum of London and the BBC Wildlife Magazine. As you might expect, the seven winners are quite exceptional and it's difficult to choose a favorite, although I have to say that the one shown below is the probably the most striking to me. Just some amazing shots by some very skilled photographers. Enjoy.
