Here's an amazing new video podcast that was just brought to my attention last night, but has already earned it's way onto my "must watch" list. It's called Icescapes, and it intends to bring the far flung Arctic and Antarctic environments home to us on our computers and iPods.
The show just launched back on January 5th, and there have already been a number of episodes since then. The first thing you'll notice is the high quality nature of the video, and the great production values that goes into each of them. The subject matter varies greatly already, with episodes that involve kiting to a remote early warning station, dogsledding through arctic conditions, and skiing in Greenland. (Check out that episode below).
You can get the episodes in a variety of formats, including watching them on the Icescapes website, downloading them directly to your computer, or subscribing to the podcast in iTunes. I've only watched them on my computer so far, but the website promises amazing quality on your iPhone/iPod or HDTV, and judging from what I've seen so far, I tend to believe them. Check out the sample episode and add this to your favorites. Thanks to Jon from The Rest of Everest for sending this my way.
