Ken Kamler Talks Everest 1996 Disaster and More

TED.com is one of the best websites on the Internet. Rarely do I visit the site and not find something interesting and truly mind expanding to watch. For those that don't know, the site serves up video of luminaries in a wide variety of areas, speaking on just about any kind of topic that you can imagine. It is an amazing resource for learning about new things, and the videos are usually extremely informative.

Take the one below for example. It is of Dr. Ken Kamler, who spoke at TED MED last October. He was the only doctor high on the mountain back in 1996, when Everest had its worst disaster ever. In the 20-minute video, he talks about the extremes of the mountain, what it is like to climb it, and his experiences there. It is fascinating stuff, and even if you are very familiar with Everest, you'll learn some new things here. This is a must watch!

Thanks to the Outside Blog for the heads up on this one.
