Odyssey Adventure Racing Wins Checkpoint Tracker, WEDALI The USARA National Championship

A bit of adventure racing news today as some the final rankings for a key event that took place last weekend have been announced.

Last Friday saw the Checkpoint Tracker National Championship get underway in Moab, Utah with some of the best adventure racing teams in the country going head to head for the top honors. Yesterday the final results were released and it was announced that Odyssey Adventure Racing-IMONPoint.org took first place in the Coed-Elite division of the event, taking 21 hours, 19 minutes to complete the course. They were followed closely by DART-nuun-SportMulti (21 hours, 25 minutes) and Team Gore-Tex coming in third at 21 hours, 31 minutes. In AR terms, that is a close finish all around. You can see the full results for the race by clicking here.

The first place team took home a nice package of prizes that included $5,000 in cash, shoes from Hi-Tec, watches from Tech4o, limited edition knives from SOG Knives & Tools and Terrain Navigator software from MyTopo.com. Congrats to the winners!

The adventure racing season is quickly winding down now, with the Abu Dhabi Adventure Challenge taking place in December. That event, which runs Dec. 10-15, has traditionally closed off the season for the past couple of years, and looks to do so again this year.
