Wonderland Trail Re-Opens!
National Parks Traveler, an excellent blog to keep you up to date on everything going on the parks across the United States, has posted a note that Wonderland Trail has re-opened.
The iconic trail, which is 93 miles long, and encircles Mt. Rainier, was closed last Fall after suffering severe damage from a storm. While the normal trail is not completely cleaned up and ready to go, the Parks Department has placed three steel footbridges, and rerouted around the trouble areas, in order to allow access once more.
You can find out more about the trail, as well as obtaining a permit to hike it at the Official Mount Rainier National Park site.
