Just a quick note to let everyone know that I'm home, safe and sound from Primal Quest, which was an amazing experience to say the least. The athletes were incredible of course, but the team behind the event just as much so. Everyone from the PQ management team to the volunteers who helped run the race, were top notch and completely professional. The race was a huge success, and it's safe to say that Primal Quest has put the buzz back into adventure racing. It was difficult to find anyone who had anything bad to say about the race, and it was wonderful to see the reaction from the locals in Montana, who were completely captivated by the race. Everywhere you went people were talking about it, following it online, and keeping track of the teams. I'll write more about the entire race soon, with more details and some thoughts from behind the scenes.
I'll start cranking things up around here again over the next day or so. Plenty of things to catch up on, and the Le Tour is off and running, which is always one of my favorite events. With no prelude this year, the first stage was a bit unique, with the Yellow Jersey up for grabs. In the end, it was Alejandro Valverde of Spain who rode off as the Tour leader, and today's second stage was taken by sprint specialist Thor Hushovd, making an early bid at the Green Jersey.
Aside from that, expect the usual reports on big adventures taking place all over the World. Climbing is heating up in the Karakorum, major endurance events are on the horizon, including the Badwater, and of course the usual news from around the globe.
