According to the Outside Blog the World Record for the marathon has been broken by Ethiopian Haile Gebrselassie at the Berlin Marathon in Germany this past weekend.
Haile ran the 26.2 mile course in 2 hours, 4 minutes, and 26 seconds, besting the old mark set by Kenya's Paul Tergat by 29 seconds. For Haile, it's his 25th World Record for running events, but his first in the marathon.
That's an amazing time to say the least. Congratulation on setting the new mark Haile!
