Bargain Backpack Reviews

Backpacker has put together six reviews on bargain backpacks for those who don't have deep pockets, but don't want to compromise quality on their weekend getaways.

The reviews are quick and to the point, and convey the message nicely. Each of the packs are rated on a scale of one to five, with five being the best, in several categories, including comfort, loading, stability and durability. The last category is especially important when you're dealing with the budget conscious.

Amongst the packs that they review are the Astra 55+10 from Vaude, the Terra 40 from North Face, and Coleman's Exponent Tatarian X55, amongst others. Each of the packs in the article rates fairly well for the money, with each having their strengths and weaknesses. For instance, the Astra gets high marks for being comfortable, while the Deuter Aircontact Lite 50+10 is lauded as the lightest of the lot.

If you're looking for a quality pack that won't leave you eaten Ramen for the next month, then give these a look. You may find a great bargain that will serve your needs just fine. And remember, the only thing better than a new backpack, is a new cheap backpack.
