The latest report on the Everest alpine ascent from MountEverest.net is that the team was forced to turn back about 500 meters below the summit. One of the three climbers began to have physical issues at about the 8000 meter mark, and a second climber turned back later due to exhaustion and dehydration. The third climber elected to not attempt a summit bid on his own. They are all resting at 7900 meters now, and will return to Base Camp tomorrow, their epic climb over, the summit denied.
The same update also gives new on the weather on Cho Oyu, a summit on Shisa Pangma, and news from Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
